Parent Night at The Clinic

 

Join us for a unique event to help parents better support young children with motor and sensory challenges.  This parent workshop will include discussions that will educate about sensory processing disorder, provide tips and strategies to help navigate challenges, and aim to support parents with ideas on how to work effectively with school districts on behalf of their child.  The evening will include time for questions with specialists and networking between families.

Sensory Processing 101:

This workshop provides a detailed explanation of the sensory systems and a discussion of the critical role they play in a child's ability to successfully interact with the world. A discussion of how young children with sensory processing challenges present themselves at home and school is provided, along with strategies for how to help these children cope and engage to the best of their ability.  Come take part in this unique event that will leave you feeling empowered to help the young child in your life feel their best.

Building Blocks of Handwriting:

This workshop will focus on crucial foundational skills that young children need to acquire to ensure academic success.  Topics discussed include developmental grasp patterns and how to choose the correct coloring/writing tool for your child, developmental "red flags" of which parents and teachers should be aware, and how to better prepare young children for success with handwriting and the fine motor demands of childhood.  This workshop provides valuable information for parents of all young children ages 0-7Come take part in this unique event that will leave you feeling empowered to help your child improve their fine motor skills as they prepare for school and beyond.
